The U-Grill Story
The University Grill & Pizza, or “UGrill”, as it is affectionately called, is the only private, independently owned business left on central campus, having served thousands of college students for over 50 years.
Open since 1960, many believe it is one of the oldest, if not the longest continuously open for business pizzeria restaurants in the city of Boston. Proudly serving the BU Central Campus & surrounding community for 3 generations. UGrill has been family owned and operated from its inception. The current generation took over the business in 1997, and four brothers run the show now. They are (in alphabetical order) Alex, Chris, Demetri, and Laz. In case you are wondering, the older gentleman in the back who makes an occasional cameo appearance is our Dad, “Nick the Greek”.
Since 1960 many changes have occurred in the BU neighborhood. The only constant is UGrill. Still after all these years, we believe UGrill has endured for a few reasons: The pride in what we do; our relationship with the customer; and our commitment to quality. Everything (and we mean EVERYTHING) from pizza to brownies are made in-house.
